The actor who played Michael De Santa in Grand Theft Auto 5 got swatted while live-streaming online, with fans blaming game developer Rockstar Games.

Getting swatted online isn't something pleasant for anyone; however, when it happens to a celebrity, it always becomes a hot topic. The act's victim was Ned Luke, who played the role of Michael in Grand Theft Auto 5. While live streaming, Ned received a call from the authorities, claiming that his property was currently being swatted. The incident was seen by thousands on Ned's livestream, who showed mixed reactions to what happened.

Fans immediately claimed that it was the Grand Theft Auto 5 studio's fault as they were unable to protect players' IP addresses. However, Ned refuted these claims (as reported by IGN), saying that the developer wasn't involved in any of this.

Y’all jumping to some large ass conclusions.

This had nothing to do with Rockstar. These assholes leaked my private info years ago and have been doing this s**t since. Anyone’s info is available online if you are sick enough to really wanna find it.

-Ned Luke

The act of "getting swat" should be discouraged by everyone since it not only ruins the streaming experience but could also be traumatic for those getting victimized by it. In some instances, it can be downright deadly. A few years ago, Ohio gamer Casey Viner swatted Andrew Finch after losing a bet in Call of Duty: WWII, resulting in the death of Finch at the hands of the police.

This incident aside, Grand Theft Auto 5 continues its seemingly endless rise in sales. Last we heard from publisher Take-Two, the game reached the astounding figure of 190 million units sold, making it the second best-selling game of all time after Minecraft. Chances are Rockstar's masterpiece will breach the 200 million threshold before its run is over.

Everyone's attention nowadays is on the sequel since Rockstar confirmed it will share the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 in early December.
