German GPU Listings Show GPU Prices Surged to 120% In February Before Dropping To 112% in May, Bringing Relief to the Hardware Market

The GPU market has begun to stabilize, and while it's not the same in every region, a few places are seeing gradual price drops over the last few weeks. A phenomenon that was hard to imagine is finally occurring in some regions. The latest stats show that the GPU selling prices have dropped noticeably in Germany, which peaked to 120% on average when taking all the latest-gen GPUs into account.

Some GPUs saw as much price increment as 53%, but others remained in the 10-30% range. Overall, the GPU prices peaked in February since October 2025, when the RAMpocalypse started. The GPU prices started declining in March, but it appeared that those were temporary price adjustments. In April, the prices dwindled even further, but this month, the prices dropped even further.

As reported by 3D Center, the average selling price of all the GPUs taken into account is at 112% compared to September 2025. This is the lowest this year, followed by April and January prices. If we exclude the GeForce RTX 5090, the average price hike comes down to 109%. RTX 5090 alone remains the most affected GPU of all, despite selling for way over its MSRP since its launch. On the other hand, the mid-range GPU and the budget offerings didn't see much price gain in the previous months.

These include the RTX 5060 series, which saw a price gain of 13-16% at max, but have dropped down to the September 2025 levels, except for the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB. The card still sells at a whopping 27% higher price compared to September 2025 due to its high demand and low availability. However, the 8 GB variant has actually dropped in price by 7% vs September 2025. The RTX 5060 8 GB is now at the same level as of September 2025, and the same goes for the Radeon RX 9070 XT.

Radeon GPUs also witnessed some significant hikes in previous months, rising as much as by 33%. The RX 9060 XT 16 GB remains pretty popular in the budget segment and is still selling for 18% higher price than it was in September 2025. Other mid-range and high-end offerings such as RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5080 have also dropped in prices this month, and we expect the trend to continue due to lower demand.
