The leaks for Google's upcoming devices tend to be enticing in terms of how much they can give away and the accuracy of the information. Just a while back, Google Pixel 9's design was completely revealed through a report way before its planned launch. Now, the latest news suggests that the Pixel Watch 3 might be coming with the Pixel 9 series and bring about a significant change, which is not what you would expect.
The upcoming Pixel Watch 3's design would be similar to the Watch 2, except for some noticeable changes
The Pixel 9 series is to come in October, and we are expecting the third-generation wearable to launch alongside. 91 Mobiles and OnLeaks bring forth 5k high-resolution renders that reveal the complete design of the Watch 3 from varied angles.
From the leaked renders, it's clear that the Pixel Watch 3 will follow its predecessors' design and display format. The 1.2-inch display will have a circular bezel-free look and a rotating crown featured on the side. The black color choice is reminiscent of the Obsidian Active model from the current Pixel Watch 2 lineup.
There are not any noticeable differences in the screen size as well. We can get a Pixel Watch 3 Pro in the upcoming releases, which might come in a relatively bigger size and be a first for Google's wearables. Although the images show a black colorway, the smartwatch can be offered in different colors when finally rolled out. The watches would allegedly be running on WearOS, as per the leaked render.
Even though Pixel Watch 2's thick bezels were not well received by users, it looks like Google has no plans to eliminate the thickness or incorporate the criticism in the upcoming variant. It is going to sport more or less the same size as the previous smartwatch but might go with slightly thinner bezels this time. The Watch 3 version would be a thicker case than the previous watch, and that could be credited to the inclusion of a larger battery capacity, now moving to 307 mAh battery size from 304 mAh battery.
A noticeable change in the Pixel Watch 3 is the move away from straps with a latch system to a buckle feature that would make the fit even better. The sensors on the back remain the same, and the latching mechanism for putting on and taking off the watch would be unchanged. The Watch 3 would have a slight dimensional difference from the Watch 2 as it will be relatively smaller and go for 40.79 x 40.73 x 14 mm dimension. Besides the different latching system and a thicker case, the upcoming wearable would share design similarities to its predecessor.
