Last year, Google introduced the concept of Fast Pair with the Jaybird Tarah Bluetooth headphones. Fast Pair makes discovery & pairing of Bluetooth devices easy. The company has since added dozens of OEMs, ODMs to bring fast pair to more devices. Today, Google just revealed some additional information about updates that should make managing compatible Bluetooth devices even better on Android.
Headphones that support fast pair will be able to show the individual battery life data for the charging case and each earbud independently, as well as a notification when the case is opened or closed. Additionally, Fast Pair devices will soon be visible in the Find My Device app and website, allowing users to easily track down lost devices. It may not be of much help for when your headphones fall behind the couch, but it's a start. The new features will be coming to all Fast Pair headphones, the complete list which can be found below.

Lastly, Android Q will get a dedicated section for managing Fast Pair-enabled headphones. Users can access device management features such as Google Assistant settings, battery life, and links to third-party management apps all in one place. Google says that they'll eventually support more hardware with subsequent updates. It is only a matter of developers signing up for the program.
