Pixel users experience missed notificaions

Pixel users look forward to updates primarily because of the enhancements they tend to bring, which include security improvements and other new features that help improve the overall experience and performance of the device. This was not the case with the April 2025 update for Google Pixel devices, as users' frustration has worsened amidst the continued issue of delayed notifications. While the users complained about missed notifications before the update, it seems like the issue was aggravated afterward, affecting more users than before.

Latest Google update worsens the issue of delayed notifications as more users seem to be encountering the problem

If you are a Google Pixel user, over the past few weeks, you may have noticed a rather nerve-wracking problem when using your device: the notifications not being received on time. For some, the notifications have been delayed to the extent that they do not show up until the phone is unlocked. Once it is unlocked, there seems to be a bombardment of all the alerts that have been missed.

Many users took to Reddit to share their frustration and see if others seem to be experiencing the same hiccup or if it is limited to some users only. Many users shared that the issue is widespread across various Pixel models and is affecting many Pixel device owners. Some Redditors claimed that their task notifications were not working altogether.

While many agreed that it was the April update that triggered the issue further and extended to more users, the delayed notification on Pixel devices is not a new issue and seems to be coming up every now and then. The missed notifications often happen without any possible explanation. The issue has been persistent across multiple generations, starting with the Pixel 6 and going up to the Pixel 9, and irrespective of the updates, it still continues to be. This glitch must be addressed promptly, and a proper fix seems long overdue.

Many users have shared temporary workarounds that you can try until a proper solution is provided. These include turning off the battery-saver option and even manually turning it off by going to the Google account. Google has not officially acknowledged the issue of delayed notifications, but we are hoping the tech giant will soon release a definitive fix. In the meantime, users can find temporary relief in the fixes that have worked for other users.
