Google has announced a slew of new devices at its Made by Google event today, including the Pixel 9 series and the new Fold, which is significantly better than the last iteration. The company also announced the new Pixel Watch 3, which is a bigger variant and finally has slimmer bezels all around. The company did not forget the Pixel Buds Pro 2, which comes with some pretty nifty upgrades that most users would be excited about.

Google has announced its new Pixel Buds Pro 2 with major changes in design and feature set

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 launched two years after the original 'Pro' variant was announced, and it has tackled user complaints related to the design of the wearable. The company has addressed the issue with a "twist-to-adjust stabilizer," which is an arc-shaped rubber that allows you to lock the earpiece. You can also tap and swipe on the capacitive touch surface for controls.

The new shape is almost 27 percent smaller, according to Google, and each bud weighs 4.7 grams compared to 6.2 grams in the previous model. As for the audio experience, Google has developed everything in-house with 11 mm drivers and a custom Tensor A1 chip for faster audio processes. The Tensor A1 chip allows for a handful of features and aids in improving existing ones, like Active Noise Cancelation. The improvement is also accompanied by the new Silent Seal 2.0, which can cancel a wider variety of noise, including traffic.

The new Conversation Detection feature works seamlessly with the ANC, turning it off when you are talking to someone. You also get three mics per earpiece for better sound quality in conjunction with an IR proximity sensor for automatic controls to play or pause a track. The company has also upgraded its algorithms to reduce noise in additional settings with Pixel Clear Calling.

As for the battery life, you get 8 hours per bud and the case provides a total of 30 hours of use. The Pixel Buds 2 Pro provides 3 hours of use with only 15 minutes in the charging case. However, the A1 chip is possibly the highlight of the upgrade as it makes room for additional features like "multipath processing" which aids in continuous ANC processing.

The new Bluetooth 5.4 has LE Audio support and Super Wideband for better connectivity and audio experience. The earbuds also come with IP54 sweat and water resistance, which is a minor upgrade over the previous IPX4 rating. Lastly, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 also comes with Find My Device support in case you lose them.

As for what else is new, the earbuds also come with a Gemini Live, and to initiate it, all you have to do is say, "Hey Google, let's talk live." The Pixel Buds Pro 2 is available in Hazel, Porcelain, Peony, and Wintergreen, similar to the Pixel 9 models. Pre-orders for the earbuds will begin today and will be available to users until Thursday, September 26.
