The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have hardly been out for a few weeks, and they are already discounted by a fair margin thanks to Amazon’s early Black Friday 2023 deals. Customers who upgrade at this time can save $150 on Google’s smaller flagship and $200 on the bigger variant, though they have to pay more to purchase the latter. Of course, for a higher price, you are getting more features, though if you are looking for a better value, the regular Pixel 8 should be your daily driver.
At the discounted prices, the Pixel 8 is available for $549.99 for the 128GB model, with three finishes; Hazel, Obsidian, and Rose. As for the pricier Pixel 8 Pro, it starts from $799.99, and you get 128GB of internal storage, with the available finishes being Obsidian, Bay, and Porcelain. Both models feature upgraded displays that reach a refresh rate of 120Hz, improved cameras, a faster and more efficient Tensor G3 chipset, and a design that looks significantly different than the competition.
Google has heavily marketed its Tensor G3 chip to be focused on AI-related tasks in image and video editing when using the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, and best of all, both flagships will now receive 7 years of software updates. The two models can also be charged slightly faster this year, and for the first time, Google has introduced a temperature sensor for the Pixel 8 Pro, but since it has not received FDA approval, it should not be used as a medical device.
We assume that these discounts will last up until Black Friday 2023, so while you have some time to figure out if the Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro is best suited as your daily driver, keep in mind that flagships that receive such price cuts do not remain in stock for long. In short, you should hurry with your purchase, or you will have to look elsewhere.
