Google Photos "Ask Photos" Will Allow You to Search Images Using Voice and Text Prompts

Now that Google I/O is underway, it is safe to say that the search engine giant will introduce many interesting things. One feature that the company has just introduced at the event is called Ask Photos. As the name suggests, this is a Google Photos feature. If the feature's name does not tell you much, it simply allows you to ask the app to search the photos for the information that you are looking at.

Google Photos' Ask Photos is one of the best features that the company has released

Google Photos is getting a new feature that will let you ask the app for something. The app will then go through the gallery to look for the information you are looking for. The new Google Photos feature goes beyond what image search can do, as Gemini is now going to look for the image content that you are looking for. During the event, Google gave an example of a license plate, with the prompt asking about a specific plate number on a specific car model. This is pretty neat and will allow you to look for the photos you are searching for much faster.

Another great thing about the new Ask Photos feature for Google Photos is that it will also work with videos, making it even more powerful. The feature will start rolling out in the coming months. Sadly, Google has not discussed whether you need an active internet connection to make this feature work, but you can expect more details in the coming months.

Honestly, this feature might sound like a novelty addition at best, but I cannot wait for it to become common on Android and Google Photos. It will make it so much easier for everyone to search for what they are looking for without sifting through their gallery.
