Google introduced its new Family Link app last month. The parental control software allows parents to monitor their kids with Android devices. However, the app was only available on Android, which means that parents with an iPhone did not have this option available. This is now changed as the company has updated the app to work on iOS devices. Let's dive in to see some more details on the new Google Family Link app on iPhone.

Google Family Link Lets Parents Monitor Your Kid's Android Device

If you're yet not familiar with the Family Link app, it allows parents to perform a bevy of functions in their  kid's Android device. For instance, you can approve or block app download, block installed apps and also provides parents with weekly or monthly reports. In addition to this, Family Link also allows parents to lock their kid's Android device by setting a "bedtime" lock. Apart from this, parents also set time restrictions and view what apps is your kid using.

Family Link unlocks the door to Google’s broad ecosystem of services, while helping you to:

• Manage the apps your kids can use – Approve or block the apps your kid wants to download from the Google Play store.

• Keep an eye on screen time – See how much time your kid spends on their favorite apps with weekly or monthly activity reports, and set daily screen time limits.

• Set device bedtime – Remotely lock your kid’s device when it’s time for bed, or time to take a break.

At this point, the child's smartphone must be powered by Android Nougat or higher. However, there are a few devices running Marshmallow that can also take advantage of Google Family Link app. In terms of configuring the app, you  have to create a Google account within the app that can be used to control or monitor the Android device.

Google's Family Link is definitely a great app if you're interested in keeping an eye on your kids and their activities. Now that the app is available on iOS, iPhone users can take advantage of it as well. However, the only drawback is that the kid must have an Android device at this point. Probably in the near future, Google will update the app in favor of iOS devices on the receiving end.
