God of War

God of War, the new entry in the series launching next month on PlayStation 4, is one of the most anticipated games launching this year, but there's quite a lot we don't know about the game. Some new details on the game have been recently revealed on a new podcast shared on the PlayStation God of War official website.

The God of War Lead Environment Artist Nate Stephens and Lead Environment Concept Artist Luke Berliner have recently revealed in the aforementioned podcast that the game's direction was quite different in the beginning, with everything being more intimistic and realistic, moving away from the huge set pieces of previous entries in the series. In the end, the team opted to change direction, opting for a style that is more realistic without being too realistic.

Speaking about more gameplay related matters, Nate Stephens revealed that the game will feature all of the nine worlds of Norse mythology as well as levels that are unlike anything that has ever been in the series, thanks to the fact that Cory Barlog's awesome story required an equally awesome contextualization. Additionally, many of the stages come with environmental hazards that will prevent Kratos from proceeding, glorified doors that are meant to give players a greater satisfaction in overcoming. One of these hazards is exploding trees, which sound quite interesting.

God of War launches on PlayStation 4 on April 20th. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
