GeForce RTX 5090 Prices To Soar To $5000 As NVIDIA & AMD Prep GPU Price Hikes in Q1 26 1

The poor DRAM availability and its high prices have affected the GPU prices on a global level, resulting in price skyrocketing.

Every Current-Gen NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel GPU Sees Price Increases, but the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Ti Lead the Surge

Sky-high GPU prices driven by the poor DRAM availability have forced gamers to pay more for the current-gen graphics cards. The latest NVIDIA and AMD GPUs took several months post-launch to stabilize in prices, but they finally appeared abundant on the shelves. It only took a few months to see them climbing back in prices, thanks to the AI Boom, which led to a massive DRAM shortage globally.

While many are forced to buy PC hardware for much higher prices, there are many who are still waiting for the market to stabilize. Modern graphics cards, which utilize either GDDR6 or GDDR7 VRAM modules, have been affected by the DRAM shortage, causing NVIDIA and AMD to adjust the supply of their latest-gen GPU models according to demand and the VRAM capacity. As we move forward in 2026, it's necessary to pay attention to how much additional you are paying for each SKU, and TechSpot's latest data for Q1 2026 will help you understand the current GPU market.

It recently published the pricing trends for all the latest NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel GPUs, tracking and comparing the lowest prices for each model in 10 different countries (November 2025 vs February 2026). These include regions from North America, the EU, and Asia, revealing how much the DRAM situation has affected the GPU prices. As far as budget and mid-range GPUs are concerned, the NVIDIA RTX 5050, RTX 5060, RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, and RTX 5070 12 GB have seen a moderate growth of around 8.7-13.6% depending on the model.

The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB, on the other hand, saw a massive 21.5% rise in prices on average. This really shows how much high VRAM capacity SKUs are affected, which we previously reported. NVIDIA is rather focused on higher-end models with the same amount of VRAM for higher profits. Still, the RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090 have seen the highest price hikes over the last three months.

AMD RDNA 4, aka Radeon RX 9000 series, also saw a noticeable rise in prices, but these mostly remained under 15%. The Radeon RX 9070 remained the least affected model with just 7% price hike. Intel, on the other hand, has only two models in the Battlemage discrete series, with Arc B570 seeing a small 3.7% hike while the Arc B580 saw a nearly 10.7% price increase. These prices are expected to keep rising, and overall, Germany, the UK, India, and the USA have seen the sharpest price hikes in recent months.
