The new addition to the lineup is the AI TOP Series, which adds three different motherboard models to the catalog. These are the Z890 AORUS XTREME AI TOP, Z890 AORUS MASTER AI TOP, and Z890 AI TOP, which offer high-end features of Gigabyte's AORUS and AI TOP series. Each of these motherboards supports dual GPUs, dual 10GbE LAN, and dual Thunderbolt 5 ports for ensuring high-performance out-of-the-box.
Then we have several other models under the AORUS family along with budget offerings like GAMING X, AERO, and UD series motherboards. Regarding the AI TOP series, this is the first time we are looking at the Thunderbolt 5 ports on desktop motherboards, that are built on the USB4 2.0 standard. The USB4 2.0 adoption isn't common and the AI TOP Series is among the first to deliver up to 80 Gbps of transfer speeds via these ports.
Apart from this, the AORUS XTREME AI TOP also supports up to 9500 MT/s of DDR5 memory, which is the highest we have ever seen on any motherboard. That said, all the AI TOP Series boards offer incredibly robust VRM for overclocking and a new design that incorporates stylish heatsinks and RGB lighting.
Gigabyte says that its entire Z890 lineup comes equipped with D5 Bionic Corsa technology that helps it achieve up to 9500 MT/s of RAM speed with Intel XMP support. As per the company, four new technologies help these motherboards achieve higher clock speeds. The AI Top motherboards also come with a dedicated DDR Wind Blade fan which can lower memory temperatures by up to 10C.
The AORUS AI SNATCH and AI SNATCH Engine present AI-overclocking for ultimate performance, while AI-Driven PCB Design and HyperTune BIOS deliver AI-design for signal enhancement on motherboards. The AORUS AI SNATCH is an auto-overclocking software by AI model, and enables users to unleash utmost performance with one-click activation.
The AI-Driven PCB Technology employs AI algorithms to optimize vias, routing and stackups, while the Hypertune BIOS uses AI to optimize MRC and adapt to signals for peak efficiency, significant memory clock boost, and enhanced overall performance.
Gigabyte Z890 motherboards provide upgraded UC BIOS features with a better interface for easier customizations and tunings. Users can select a theme from the Multi-theme Design with a single click, which also brings a grayscale option to enhance user experience.
The Z890 motherboards also bring several upgraded features and better software support to offer real-time monitoring of the components. In addition to the standard Intel Baseline, Performance and Extreme profiles, the BIOS offers three additional modes which include Spec Enhance, Optimization, and Unleash, with the last one offering up to an 11% boost in performance.
For overclockers, the Z890 motherboards bring up to 25 power phases on the AI TOP Series motherboards and up to 21 power phases on other models. Plus, there is Gigabyte's exclusive NPU Overdrive feature to boost the AI performance of Intel Arrow Lake CPUs by up to 23% in real-world applications.
Gigabyte has taken good care of the connectivity, offering WiFi 7 out of the box, Thunderbolt 4 ports, PCI-E 5.0 interface for the GPUs, expansion cards, and SSDs, and the latest display output ports like DisplayPort 1.4a. As per the press release, Gigabyte's Z890 motherboards will be available at the end of October.
