The AORUS 17H and AORUS 17X are designed by GIGABYTE to exude a ton of gamer DNA with their uniquely designed chassis and harboring the best-in-class hardware, including a fully-powered NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 GPU with 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Typically, these machines would be out of range for the majority of those wanting an incredibly powerful 17.3-inch notebook at their disposal, but on Amazon, you can get up to a $450 discount on the AORUS 17H and the AORUS 17X. However, we strongly recommend hurrying up because there are limited units available for both models.
GIGABYTE’s AORUS 17H offers the best value, but its 1080p display will not allow the RTX 4080 to properly flex its graphical horsepower
Whether you want the best possible discount or the best overall value, the AORUS 17H and AORUS 17X offer one thing or another. The cheaper one is the AORUS 17H, going for $1,749.99 on Amazon after a whopping $450 discount, and it sports a 1080p, 360Hz IPS LCD screen, along with a 14-core Intel Core i7-13700H CPU. Personally, the only gripe we have with this model is that the lower resolution of the 17-inch panel does not do just to the RTX 4080 GPU, but there are two remedies to this.
You can hook up the AORUS 17H to an external 1440p monitor to really let the graphics processor shine, or you can increase the resolution scaling, an option available in some games. While both solutions might not be ideal, it is still a decent fix if you think the RTX 4080 is overkill for a 1080p screen. However, there is a third fix to this little conundrum, though that will require you to spend more money and get the upgraded gaming laptop, the AORUS 17X.
With its 2560 x 1440, 240Hz panel and the more capable Core i9-13900HX CPU with 24 cores, the AORUS 17X is definitely better in every manner, which is why you will likely not be surprised to read that it will set you back by $2079.99. In other specifications, the AORUS 17H and AORUS 17X are near-identical, so it all boils down to how much you are willing to invest for your next portable gaming machine.
While both gaming laptops are a good pick, we are personally leaning towards the AORUS 17H since it oozes better value with that $1,749.99 price tag. The rest of the purchasing decision lies with you, but as we have mentioned before, you might want to hurry because, at the time of writing, there were only a limited number of units remaining.
