Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei developer Sucker Punch Productions is ready to move on to whatever its next project will be, as the studio confirms that its Legends multiplayer spin-off mode that was a surprise hit with Ghost of Tsushima has already received its last major update for its Ghost of Yotei iteration.
In a PlayStation Blog post, Sucker Punch confirmed that the raid update added last month was, in fact, the final major update that Ghost of Yotei: Legends would receive. "The Raid was our last major planned update for Legends. It finishes the story of the Yotei Six in that mode. We've loved to see players playing it, continue to play it and enjoy it. It's been great," said lead designer Darren Bridges.
Of course, it's possible that Legends does get another update if you focus on the technicality that Bridges describes last month's raid as Sucker Punch's "last planned update," leaving potential for an 'unplanned' update to happen if the team has an idea it wants to explore or if there's enough demand from players.
Barring that, there will be no new content updates coming to Ghost of Yotei: Legends. It'll still be playable for the foreseeable future, so if you've already rinsed everything currently available in the mode and you're having a good time replaying the content, you'll be able to enjoy it for a long while.
It's just a bit unfortunate, though, that Yotei's Legends mode seemingly had a much shorter lifespan for new content. Yotei's Legends mode arrived on March 10, 2026, six months after Ghost of Yotei initially launched. Two months later, Sucker Punch is already moving on.
The upside to that, of course, is that we can now look forward to Sucker Punch's next project, whether it's something entirely new or a third iteration of its 'Ghost' series of games. If it does have another Ghost game lined up, then we could likely be looking at another new character and new historical setting to explore.
We know that the studio will continue its structure of making one project at a time, and that it has officially moved into a new era with its co-founder, Brian Fleming, retiring at the end of last year. Ultimately, we can't know for sure what Sucker Punch's next game will be, but veteran PlayStation fans still hold out hope Sucker Punch will reach into its back catalogue and bring one of its dormant series into the modern age. A brand new InFamous, anyone?
