Gearbox, the renown studio behind the likes of Borderlands and Brothers in Arms, might be finally about to unveil a new game at PAX East 2019 in Boston, Massachusetts.

On Thursday, March 28th, the Gearbox Main Theater Show will take place between 2 and 3 PM local time. This is the official description of the panel.

This is your opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at Gearbox Software and Gearbox Publishing, along with the latest news and updates from the makers of Borderlands, Battleborn, Brothers in Arms, and more!  We will have never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises, so don’t miss out!

Everyone is betting on the reveal being all about Borderlands 3. That's mostly because Take-Two, publisher of the franchise, has promised its investors that a major 2K franchise will release in fiscal year 2020, which begins in April 2019.

Besides, Borderlands fans have been waiting literally for years. The last proper entry was Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, launched in October 2014.

We know very little about Borderlands 3, except for the brief Unreal Engine 4 tech demo Gearbox showcased at the Game Developers Conference 2017. It will be interesting to see if the game follows the likes of Destiny, Tom Clancy's The Division and Anthem into delivering a 'looter-shooter' with a persistent online world.

Regardless, we'll keep our eyes peeled on this panel. Stay tuned.
