Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked is just around the corner, and the speculations about the upcoming event are in full swing. While the company has many significant products in line for launch, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 seem to be the focus point of the recent news. Earlier reports suggested the design changes for the Galaxy Fold 5 successor, which included a wider cover screen for the foldable that features a book-like design. Now, a tipster shared more details of the device, confirming the previous claims by sharing a leaked image of the next Fold.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have a wider aspect ratio, matching that of the OnePlus Open

The renowned tipster Ice Universe shared what appears to be a real image of the phone that, although it does not give away much, shows a wider aspect ratio. This might be an attempt to match up with its competition in terms of a bigger cover display, like the OnePlus Open and the Pixel Fold. It could also be because previously, the Z Fold's display received a lot of backlash as it gave less room to maneuver, making the outer display almost useless for some people. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to get a cover screen size of 3.9 inches, while the current sports a 3.4-inch display.

The design has also been upgraded to a slimmer look with a significantly thinner hinge. The rounded corners of the Fold 5 might be ditched in favor of a more boxed appearance incorporating relatively defined edges. The upcoming foldable with an expansive display will radically improve the user experience when performing daily tasks.

In addition to the vital visual changes coming with the Galaxy Z Fold 6, the company is also planning to bring Galaxy AI capabilities similar to the S24 lineup. These important AI features, combined with new design changes, will greatly improve the overall user experience.

It is expected that Samsung will launch its new foldable devices at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024, which will be held on July 10th. The release date for the Fold 6 and Flip 6 is earlier in terms of its previous pattern, but with the Fold 6, one cannot rely on previous reports and trends due to the many contradictory leaks that we have seen. Irrespective of the specific date, we are anticipating the July event for substantial announcements it will make.
