For those who do not remember, the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered flagship launched just five months ago, and with the latest development, the company is likely to bring the ‘Plus’ variant back into the fold.

With the update published on Newspim, it can be concluded that Samsung will only launch the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. After experiencing poor sales with the Galaxy S25 Edge, the Korean giant restarted the development of its ‘middle of the pack’ flagship, the Galaxy S26 Plus, but there appears to be even more bad news on the horizon.

According to @chunvn8888, the Galaxy S26 Edge’s cancellation has delayed the development of the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Plus, with no timeline provided on when Samsung intends to resume things. Thankfully, the Galaxy S26 Ultra appears to be progressing along nicely, which is unsurprising given that it is the most popular device in the family. Notable tipster Ice Universe, who goes by the handle @UniverseIce on X, has confirmed that the news regarding the Galaxy S26 Edge is true.

Talked to some friends after S26 Edge death post and they told me both the Pro and Plus development has been delayed since this month with no given time when the development for both would be resumed. Definitely we will see some launch delay for both due to Edge's sudden death.
