Samsung is finally giving its Galaxy S25 series the flagship treatment because every member will feature 12GB RAM as standard, including the ‘Slim’ version. This upgrade will be highly noteworthy, given that the Korean giant outfitted the base Galaxy S24 models with a laughable 8GB memory, with only the Galaxy S24 Ultra featuring 12GB RAM. There is even better news for those who intend to upgrade to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, as previously published information stated that the top-end model will ship with 16GB RAM. Unfortunately, one individual has pointed out that this particular variant will only be available in one market.
Samsung may only launch the Galaxy S25 Ultra with 16GB RAM in Asia, but customers will have to spend a premium for it
Even though the entire Galaxy S25 lineup will exclusively ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Samsung does not intend to bring the best versions to every market. According to @chunvn8888 on X, regions that fall under Asia can purchase the Galaxy S25 Ultra with 16GB RAM, meaning that Europe, North America, and South America will only have the 12GB variant available for sale. If that will not make customers livid, we do not know what will.
Also, it is not like the Galaxy S25 Ultra will flaunt 16GB RAM for the base storage version of 256GB. Customers will have to spend a premium to get the 512GB or the 1TB versions to enjoy the memory upgrade. Thankfully, Samsung should make things a little easier for customers and their wallets by offering storage upgrades as part of its pre-order bonuses. In this manner, those who opt for the 256GB model can select the 512GB variant of the Galaxy S25 Ultra at no extra charge, getting double the internal memory and 16GB RAM to play around with.
So it's confirmed that the 16GB S25U is exclusive to the Asian market only. China, South Korea, India, Vietnam will have far from my knowledge. Looks like Asians like us are eating good one more time

As for why Samsung would choose this route, our gut tells us that it could be cost-related. We reported that while all Galaxy S25 models will feature LPDDR5X RAM, these memory chips are mass produced on the improved 12nm technology instead of 13nm, which upgrades the efficiency while also bumping up the performance and reducing area size. Shifting to advanced lithography will be accompanied by a higher bill, which may have prompted Samsung to exclusively target the Asian market to sell the Galaxy S25 Ultra with 16GB RAM.
Hopefully, there is an affordable way to import the 16GB RAM models to other parts of the world, but it is disappointing that customers have to resort to this channel instead of having a direct retail path at their fingertips.
