In every flagship generation, Samsung manages to slightly increase the size of its vapor chambers, with the Galaxy S24 Ultra sporting a bigger solution than its immediate predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra. With the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the company has managed to expand the cooler’s size once again, with a new comparison showing that the copper block present in the previous-generation Galaxy S24 Ultra looks like it should belong inside the smaller models.

The new vapor chamber on the Galaxy S25 Ultra is marketed to be 40 percent bigger than the one in the Galaxy S24 Ultra

Through some magic or genius-level engineering, Samsung somehow managed to include a cooling solution that is marketed to be 40 percent larger than the previous one. To be fair, this addition was more than a requirement. After all, every single one of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 models, including the Galaxy S25 Ultra, ships with an overclocked version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, which has its performance cores running at 4.47GHz instead of the default 4.32GHz.

Taming the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which operates at the aforementioned clock speeds, requires some serious cooling, so Samsung successfully incorporated the Galaxy S25 Ultra with an adequate copper block. It will be interesting to see how big of a vapor chamber is present in the smaller Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+, but thanks to the larger footprint of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung had more room to add a bigger cooler. The chipset upgrade also means that the flagship is now more than capable of playing AAA games using emulation, with a few examples being running A Plague Tale: Innocence at above 60FPS.

While the Snapdragon 8 Elite is more than capable of these feats, it also needs a robust cooler like the one in the Galaxy S25 Ultra so that all of its performance-related attributes are utilized effectively.
