Galaxy S25 Ultra beats the iPhone 16 Pro Max in the latest multi-core test comparison

A new benchmark comparison pitting the top-end flagships in the world right now, the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the iPhone 16 Pro Max, reveals that Samsung’s recently announced flagship is the better performer when we take the multi-core score into consideration. For those who forgot, the entire Galaxy S25 range ships with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite, but the chipset powering all three models is running at higher frequencies, which may have positively impacted the scores that you are about to see.

Unfortunately, the Galaxy S25 Ultra continues to be slower than the iPhone 16 Pro Max in the single-core score, which is an area that Apple continues to dominate

An image showing a Geekbench 6 comparison between the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Galaxy S25 Ultra was uploaded by @TECHINFOSOCIALS. Coming to the multi-core results, Samsung’s premium offering for 2025 secures the lead with a score of 10,223, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max trails behind its nemesis with a score of 8,553, resulting in a 19.55 percent difference. Of course, we cannot ignore the single-core figures, and once again, victory belongs to Apple, who has made it a point to dominate this specific category.

Where the Galaxy S25 Ultra managed to obtain a score of 3,220, the iPhone 16 Pro Max beats its rival with 3,457 points. While a win is still a win, it is impressive how the lead has been minimized, and we strongly feel that it is thanks to the higher clock speeds of the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s performance cores, which operate at 4.47GHz instead of the default 4.32GHz. While it was prudent of Samsung to add a significantly larger vapor chamber to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, we doubt that this addition made a monumental difference to the scores because Geekbench 6 does not measure sustained workloads.

Then again, if you want to incessantly obtain bragging rights over those who are currently an iPhone 16 Pro Max owner, Amazon is running a terrific promotion where it is offering early adopters a $200 gift card if they pre-order any Galaxy S25 Ultra. The promotion will end on February 7, as that is when the flagship will be officially released, so do not miss out on this golden opportunity.
