The Galaxy S25 series is still pretty far from going official, but that does not mean we are going to stop getting leaks about the phone. A couple of days ago, a wild rumor claimed that the Galaxy S25 Ultra would feature only three cameras on the back, as Samsung is getting rid of the 3x and 5x zoom lenses and replacing them with a variable zoom sensor.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra to retain its 3x and 5x cameras on the back, but there could be an upgrade
The tips we received a couple of days ago were from sources we didn't know well, so we did not think much about the possibility. Now, two more tips have come forward from reliable sources about how the Galaxy S25 Ultra is going to retain all four of its cameras.
The S25U, of course, has four cameras.
It definitely does not have this design. https://t.co/iB3GZ8mtth

J. Reve, formerly known as Tech Reve, is a reliable tipster when it comes to Samsung and other devices. He talked about how the phone is going to retain its four cameras. Then, Ice Universe, another reliable tipster, pitched in and claimed the same thing about Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra.
What is certain is that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra still has four cameras.
Samsung won’t take the liberty of removing the 3x lens, but an upgrade is very possible.
I'll have to wait for more specific and accurate news.
I will bring you absolutely accurate camera…— ICE UNIVERSE (@UniverseIce) May 14, 2024
The tip from Ice Universe adds more information that there is a possibility of an upgrade from Samsung this time around. This means that the 3x lens could offer better picture quality or something else entirely. Whatever the case might be, we are still not sure what will happen going forward.
Now, this is not the first time since we have seen several industry insiders talking about the same device with conflicting reports. My instincts would ask me to go with the ones we have trusted in the past because their information has always been accurate.
I would also like to point out that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is still far away, so many things could change as we get closer to the launch. One thing is for sure, any concrete information about Samsung's next flagship series should start coming out sometime in July because that is when Samsung will be done with its Galaxy Z series and will shift its focus towards its flagships for next year.
