Not an official Galaxy S24 Ultra image, new flagship features a brand new build material

Samsung is scheduled to hold its first Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2024, with the show's star obviously being the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This flagship is also said to be the company’s first to shift away from an aluminum and glass chassis and switch to a titanium alloy one. Now, one tipster places both the Galaxy S23 Ultra and its successor in a side-by-side comparison, showing that while there are tons of similarities between the two handsets, a transition to the titanium alloy build means improved textures and more.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra also gets some design refinements, such as bigger buttons, a changed S Pen, and more

The images were uploaded by Ice Universe on X, but the watermarks suggest that they were taken from elsewhere. Regardless, this is a decent comparison showing various angles of the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra so we get a closer look at what Samsung intends to bring with the upcoming launch. In case you did not figure it out, the handset at the bottom is the Galaxy S24 Ultra, touting the cleaner texture.

Unfortunately, as we have seen with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, using titanium can also result in lower durability compared to the previous models. The overall thickness of the upcoming flagship has been reduced to 8.6mm, with the speaker cutout now a long bar instead of a grill, which may result in a better audio output. The air vents have also been moved to the top, with the S Pen now sporting a flat bottom instead of a curved one belonging to the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The buttons of the Galaxy S24 Ultra are also thicker and will likely deliver a more tactile feel compared to its predecessor. While Samsung has retained the design of both flagships, it has refined the Galaxy S24 Ultra, particularly with the new build material, as it now touts a better finish. We will find out whether it holds up well against long-term use in the future. For now, we believe there are several improvements, but we would like to know your thoughts in the comments too.
