Samsung’s S24 FE model will be the affordable version of the flagship lineup, which is highly anticipated by users because it will offer the same performance level as the Galaxy S24 series but on a budget. Recent evidence suggests that Samsung might be launching its new Fan Edition smartphone soon.
New evidence suggests Samsung Galaxy S24 FE could be coming sooner rather than later
Initial reports for the unconfirmed Galaxy S24 FE started circulating in February and then in April. The leaks from April suggested a possible delay in Samsung's rollout of the Galaxy S24 FE due to its ongoing state of development. The details on the Galaxy S24 FE are scarce, and the industry has also been quiet about it. However, some sources have previously suggested that the S24 FE could see the light of the day early next year.
Recently, Tarun Vats spotted the first One UI test build for the Galaxy S24 FE on Samsung's server. The build revealed the phone's model number for the international variant, SM-S721B. This indicates that the FE edition is in the works with an impending launch. A similar device was spotted in April in the UK carrier database with a model number SM-F721U.
Assumptions stem from the leaks at this stage and prior releases, as Samsung has not confirmed the device or its launch. In the past, Samsung launched the FE model almost six months after the launch of the flagship S-series devices. The Galaxy S23 FE came out last year in October. If we keep this trend in view, an October release could be expected. The schedule for Samsung's FE smartphones has been unpredictable, so we can only be certain that it is under development and might be launched soon.
We expect the Galaxy S24 FE to inherit the premium features the company offered with the Galaxy S24 lineup. There is still ambiguity regarding whether the S24 FE adapts the hardware from the Galaxy S23 models or the relatively new S24 series. However, various sources have claimed that the Galaxy S24 FE screen will share similarities with the S23 FE model. The S24 FE could come with faster-wired charging speeds and a bigger battery compared to its predecessor.
It still remains unclear whether the S24 FE will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor or its relatively slower counterpart. Previous reports have mentioned that the company plans to launch both Snapdragon and Exynos-powered variants of the Galaxy S24 FE.
For now, we are assuming a fall launch. The Samsung Galaxy FE's release schedule could impact the phone's positioning in the market, as many users base their buying habits on the device's availability. The company needs to look at the launch of the FE version proactively, as the S25 launch could take the limelight after a few months.
