The Galaxy S23 is definitely the best Android smartphone at the time of writing, and we have a lot of reasons to believe that it will remain on the top spot till next year when Samsung eventually comes out with the Galaxy S24. For starters, it comes with an exclusive variant of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the chip has great efficiency in terms of battery consumption on top of the extra horsepower it delivers over its predecessor.

Galaxy S23 displays use an organic material capable of cutting down power consumption by up to 16%

Now it seems that the processor is not the only one focusing on conserving battery as Samsung Display has shared details on the brand new OLED panel used in the Galaxy S23 devices alongside all the benefits that come with it - one of them being better battery life.

According to a blog post by Samsung Display, the Galaxy S23 screens consume less power, thanks to a new organic material used by the displays. I do understand it doesn't sound very clear, but here is how Samsung explains it:

The new organic material improved the luminance efficiency by making the movement of electrons easier and faster. By doing so, power consumption has been cut down by 13% to 16%.

Even though it is not evident just how much effect does it have on the actual battery life of the Galaxy S23 but if you read reviews online, you will see almost everyone praising the new phones in terms of their battery and performance. This makes sense when you combine the already excellent Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Samsung's new display tech. Considering how Samsung is at the bleeding edge of display innovation, we won't be surprised if the Galaxy S24 boasts even better results.
