The Chinese-exclusive card is now selling worldwide but at twice the cost of the GeForce RTX 5090, making it one of the most expensive GB202-based GPUs in the world.

After Getting Discontinued in China, NVIDIA's RTX 5090D Model Lists on eBay for $5,500-$6,000

A few weeks ago, NVIDIA had to discontinue the supply of GeForce RTX 5090D due to latest US exports policy. Since it was the only alternative to the GeForce RTX 5090 in China, NVIDIA and its board partners are now reported to be working on the GeForce RTX 5090D V2, which should be coming soon in the Chinese market.

However, as the original RTX 5090D has now stopped shipping to the Chinese market, the GPU is now being sold in other parts of the world for sky-high prices. As can be seen on eBay, the GALAX GeForce RTX 5090D HOF OC LAB edition is listed for $5,498 - $5,999 (for XOC edition), making it one of the most expensive RTX 5090D cards on the planet. GALAX's Hall of Fame cards usually sell for a much higher price than regular editions and are mostly bought by enthusiasts and overclockers, but since the demand is high, users can now get their hands on probably the fastest RTX 5090D in the world.

The GALAX RTX 5090D HOF OC LAB comes with two 16-pin connectors, allowing the GPU to draw a huge amount of power. We have seen BIOSes that unlock up to 2000W of power for the card. Still, this huge power rating doesn't result in any significant boost in gaming performance. Still, for synthetic benchmarks, higher power does help, particularly for overclockers who are trying to achieve the highest possible clocks via manual overclocking or deploying an advanced cooling solution such as nitrogen cooling.

It is interesting to see the RTX 5090D selling for such a huge price tag since the GeForce RTX 5090 has already dropped in the $2500-$3000 price range and is sometimes listed for even below MSRP in Europe. The GeForce RTX 5090D is technically identical to the RTX 5090 but when the latter is already available for half the price tag, there is no reason why anyone should buy the GALAX RTX 5090D HOF OC LAB, unless they are looking to break world records.
