G.Skill has one of the biggest booths at Computex & they are making full use of the space to showcase their new Trident Z5 NEOX memory modules & some impressive DDR5 overclocking figures.
G.Skill Pushes DDR5 & CAMM2 Memory To The Extreme On Air-Cooling, Next-Gen Trident Z5 NEOX Kits Unveiled Too
Starting with the new Trident Z5 NEOX & NEOX RGB kits, these new designs from G.Skill look fantastic as ever and come in a range of color and design varieties, such as the diamond-silver flagship module with the Royal touch which includes a diamond-themed RGB diffuser, the standard glossy white and black color schemes on the RGB series, a matte gray design which also has RGB illumination, and two very interesting color choices, green & orange, which look very vibrant. These, too, come with RGB LEDs.
There's also a new version of the Flare X5X shown with matte gray aesthetics. G.Skill won't go into much detail on the specs, frequencies, timings, availability, or pricing of these kits, but they should target high-end gamers, enthusiasts, and overclockers as all G.Skill modules do within the Trident Z5 lineup.
The company also showcased high-capacity modules with SK Hynix modules with up to 128 GB memory and that's about it for the memory modules, so let's switch our focus to the overclocking side.
G.Skill's booth is the pinnacle of PC enthusiasm and overclocking, with the front section hosting a live overclocking contest, hosting teams from each major motherboard manufacturer to showcase their expertise. Team ASUS won this year, so kudos to them, but we appreciate every team and their overclockers who put in the effort to entertain audiences who visited Computex.
So, on the overclocking side, we first have a CAMM2 demo with a single 64 GB module running at DDR5-10000 speeds, all air-cooled. This module features CL56-70-70 timings and runs on an ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 HERO motherboard with the Core Ultra 7 265K. This is up from the DDR5-7800 & 48 GB spec that was displayed last year, so quite a big progress there.
There are also several overclocking demos with speeds of over 10,000 MT/ s, with the fastest UDIMM running at 10,600 MT/s on air cooling.
There's also a live demo of a DDR5-6400 CL26 kit, which was used on an overclocked AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, and the system is generating 1000+ FPS while consuming around 900 Watts of power. Insane stuff and do let us know if you want to see more action from the show floor, and we'll have it up for you since we are here for a few more days.
