NVIDIA RTX GPU users unite - a modder has released a free new Elden Ring DLSS 3.5 mod which improves performance.

Created by modder 'huutaii', the "DLSS Super Resolution" mod for Elden Ring adds support for NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution/NVIDIA Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (thanks DsoGaming). Although free, this mod is different from PureDark's popular paid DLSS3 mod as it lacks Frame Generation. Still, it's an impressive mod that NVIDIA RTX GPU users will surely appreciate.

Last year, FromSoftware added ray tracing support to Elden Ring, and although visuals were improved, this came at a price. Here's what we wrote about the RayTracing update last year:

Overall, the Elden Ring update isn't as disappointing as mentioned by the initial reports, but it's also not great. Additionally, it's not much of an improvement compared to the screen-space RTGI shader that people have been injecting via ReShade since shortly after the game's launch.

The biggest disappointment, however, comes by way of the lack of any upscaler addition in this patch. There's a reason NVIDIA created the GeForce RTX graphics cards with both RT Cores and Tensor Cores, the latter of which have been dedicated to winning back at least some of the performance loss inherent to ray tracing with clever AI image reconstruction (DLSS).

Those interested in giving this free mod a try can download it from Nexusmods here. As always, be sure to follow the provided installation instructions.

Elden Ring is available worldwide now for PC and consoles. As expected, this mod is only available on PC.  Developer FromSoftware is currently working on the game's first expansion - Shadow of the Erdtree, which might very well be released soon (if recent changes in the SteamDB depot are anything to go by). We'll update you as soon as more information about Elden Ring and its first expansion comes in. For now, stay tuned and discuss this free DLSS 3.5 mod below.
