Forza Horizon 6 launched earlier this week (or at the end of last week if you bought the Premium Edition), and according to a new report from Alinea Analytics, the latest driving game from developer Playground Games is, unsurprisingly, a massive hit as it nears an estimated 5 million copies sold and $325 million earned in gross revenue in its first week on store shelves.

According to the report, Playground Games' trip to Japan had no problem selling millions of copies off the jump despite its inclusion on Xbox Game Pass right at launch for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. More copies were still sold on Steam, but it wasn't a massive drop-off between sales on Steam and sales on Xbox.

Copies sold on Xbox amounted for 42% of sales, according to the report, an estimated 2.1 million copies against Steam's estimated 2.8 million. There were also an estimated 3 million more players who checked the game out via their Game Pass Ultimate subscription. This report also comes after Playground Games already celebrated the game reaching over 6 million players overall.

All things considered, Forza Horizon 6 is a certified hit for Playground Games and for Xbox, which comes as no surprise since the series has long been on of the best first-party Xbox titles and the critical acclaim earned by Forza Horizon 5, which Horizon 6 has more than followed up on with a 91 on Metacritic.

Wccftech's Chris Wray gave Forza Horizon 6 full marks in his review, calling its new setting the best map in the series history and praising it as a fine-tuned culmination of the best parts of the Forza Horizon series. "Forza Horizon 6 shines through with professionalism and, dare I say, love. There isn't a single thing in here that Playground Games haven't put their heart and soul into, and it shows. They have learned from every previous title to create the pinnacle of the racing game genre."

It'll be interesting to see if Playground is able to recreate the same critical and commercial success with its next hotly anticipated title, Fable, which the studio just recently reconfirmed is still on track to arrive in 2026.
