The Final Fantasy XVI PC demo received a new update introducing fixes for some important issues that will also be applied to the full version of the game.

The demo 1.02 update addresses the massive stuttering issues that made the demo almost unplayable on certain system configurations. While the experience still isn't entirely stutter-free, as there are still minor stutters here and there in the most demanding scenarios, the new version of the demo is a massive step up over the previous one.

Besides the stuttering issues fix, the new Final Fantasy XVI demo update addresses a variety of other issues, including certain characters not being displayed properly, Screen Space Reflections and Variable Rate Shading settings not applying properly, and screen mode settings not getting saved on certain hardware configurations. All these fixes will be applied to the game's final version, which is launching in just a week, on September 17th.

Now that the most glaring issues seem to have been fixed, the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI is set to be the best way to experience Clive Rosfield's engaging journey in Valisthea. You can learn more about it by checking out our review of the PlayStation 5 release.
