Years after its release, Fallout: New Vegas continues to be one of the most popular entries in the series, and demand for a remaster continues to be high. Late last month, it seemed like fans' wishes would come true in the near future, as development studio Iron Galaxy seemed to tease that it was working on this highly requested project. However, the developer has now confirmed that there was nothing to see in the image they shared a few days back.
On Bluesky, the development studio behind multiple ports and remasters such as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, Metroid Prime Remastered, and the Nintendo Switch port of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim provided a clarification on what many took as a confirmation for a Fallout: New Vegas remaster, saying:
“There is nothing to see here. Sorry to disturb the volcanoes, but that was just a BTS look at our company meeting. We use that slide every month and has nothing to do with anything Fallout being worked on. As you can imagine, we love Fallout, too. Now pardon us as we retreat back into our vault.”
While Iron Galaxy may not be working on a Fallout: New Vegas remaster, it doesn't mean that the game originally developed by Obsidian isn't coming to modern gaming systems in the future. According to a report from January, remakes of both New Vegas and the third entry in the series will arrive at some point, although it's more likely we will see a Fallout 3 remake or remaster first, as a new edition of the game has been known to be in the works since late 2023 while also getting mentioned in a March 2026 toy listing. As The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was also mentioned in the leak, and the game indeed launched last year, there's little doubt that a Fallout 3 remaster, at the very least, is among the many projects related to the series Bethesda is currently working on.
