With only four days left before the game's official launch, CAPCOM shared how crossplay will work in Exoprimal. At launch, there will only be limited support for crossplay. The platforms will be split into three groups:

As you can see, crossplay is only enabled within each ecosystem: the Xbox ecosystem (including Microsoft Store on PC), the PlayStation ecosystem, and the Steam ecosystem. The developers said they're looking into ways to implement full-fledged crossplay between all the platforms, which is the norm nowadays, but warned it may take some time.

Originally announced at Sony's March 2022 State of Play, Exoprimal is a third-person shooter game set in an alternate version of Earth where sudden dinosaur outbreaks have engulfed the globe in the year 2040. To stave off the peril of impending extinction, the corporation Aibius developed an AI called Leviathan capable of predicting when and where future dinosaur outbreaks will occur.

Aibius also created the Exosuits, which give humans a fighting chance against the creatures. In the game's fiction, Exosuit pilots take part in a series of tests to demonstrate their aptitude for the cause. The Exosuits are loosely divided into the three classic roles of Tank, Support, and DPS (called Assault in Exoprimal).

In a recent hands-on preview, Francesco De Meo wrote about the game:

At the end of the day, my time with this new preview build of Exoprimal hasn't really changed how I felt about the game following the open beta testing earlier this year. The gameplay basics are all there, but the more I play it, the more I feel the game needs something more to succeed. As I haven't seen everything the game has to offer, however, there's still the chance that some late-game content will finally turn Exoprimal into the dino-killing frenzy it was meant to be.

Exoprimal will be available on July 14th for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X. It'll be added from day one to the Game Pass library, likely in the hope of fostering a big enough community to keep online multiplayer matches going.
