Erying has unveiled its brand new MoTD (Motherboard on Desktop) design under its Polestar series, now featuring Intel's 14th Gen HX CPUs.

Erying is known to bring innovation into the motherboard markets by offering its lineup of MoDT (Mobile on Desktop) motherboards. The firm's offerings are designed to provide consumers with optimal performance and great value by integrating processors designed for the mobile segment into desktop form factor motherboards.

We have covered Erying's products in the past as well, such as the Polestar MoDT HX, which featured Intel's 13th Gen mobile HX processors; however, the newer release comes with the upgraded Intel CPU series, the "Raptor Lake Refresh" or the 14th Gen HX CPUs.

Erying showcased its Poletsar HM770 motherboard at the ChinaJoy 2024 event, and it provided us with information on what to expect with Erying's flagship MoDT offering. The firm plans to offer the latest M-ATX motherboard in three configurations, featuring the Intel Core i7-14650HX (8P/8E), Core i7-14700HX (8P/12E), and the Core i9-14900HX (8P/16E) as well, under the H770M chipset.

Erying's 14th Gen Polestar MoDT HX motherboard will come with an 8+1+1 phase power supply design, receiving power through an 8-pin connector. For memory, the motherboard features four DDR5 DIMM slots, supporting up to 5600+ MT/s speeds. The motherboard is also equipped with several M.2 interfaces, including 2x PCIe 4.0 × 4 and 1x PCIe 3.0 × 4 M.2 slots, providing users will ample connectivity options. The CPU baseplate is a vapor chamber design which should offer great cooling capabilities too.

The I/O panel also includes several options as well, including DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 connection, along with USB Type-A and Type-C ports. Erying's 14th Gen MoDT HX is well-decorated when you consider the standards that it comes with, and with Intel's Raptor Lake Refresh platform onboard, one can expect some serious performance out of this motherboard, catering the best to high-end consumers.

Unfortunately, the pricing of the newest MoDT motherboard by Erying hasn't been revealed yet, but it will surely be above compared to its 13th-generation counterpart, which goes up to as high as $366 in the maximum configuration.

Overall, the MoDT motherboards are great options for mainstream builders who can get a great combo package despite there being no upgrade option in the future, since you are well settled with Intel's newest CPU architecture, given that you minus the instability issues that might come with it. Intel's "HX" CPUs don't have instability issues and Lenovo recently opted to design its own 14th Gen HX MoTD series as they offered better value and performance than the desktop offerings. The only downside is that you can't upgrade the CPU. Once you get a motherboard, you have to stick with the CPU and change the entire motherboard if you plan on upgrading the processor.
