Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro has alleged that SpaceX and Tesla billionaire Elon Musk has hacked the National Electoral Council of Venezuela, leaving Maduro unable to share election results. Maduro's allegations are the latest in the spat between the Venezuelan president and the billionaire, with the two having gone head to head via posts on social media and press conferences. These have seen Maduro invite Musk to a one on one brawl, and the latter accepted his offer on the condition that he step down if Musk wins. Venezuela's elections are the latest in a global bout of political instability, with the US government also taking a position and sharing that it believes Venezuela's opposition leader won the election.

Elon Musk Accuses Venezuelan President Of "Getting High On His Own Very Large Supply Of Drugs"

A clip of Maduro's accusations was shared on X, where he appears to be talking about an alleged cyber attack against the Venezuelan communications system and particularly the system that involves the country's National Electoral Council. A machine translated version of the audio shows Maduro outlining that he has asked Russia and China to evaluate the integrity of the infrastructure, and the clip ends with the president stating that he is certain that the disruption has been "directed by the power of Elon Musk."

In response, Musk shared an image of an advertisement run by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) which offers an award of up to $15 million for the arrest or conviction of the Venezuelan president. Musk's caption accuses Maduro of "getting high on his own very large supply of drugs," followed by an assertion that the image he has shared is an "actual, real DEA reward poster."

Musk's comments were the latest in a series that has seen him go up against the Venezuelan president through social media posts. Other posts have seen him threaten Maduro to "carry you to Gitmo on a donkey" and share that he is 'coming for him'. Gitmo is short for Guantanamo Bay, the notorious US prison in Cuba. Musk's comments on the fight between him and Maduro have seen the billionaire admit that Maduro is a "big guy himself who "probably knows how to fight."

He also believes the Venezuelan president will "chicken out" from fighting him, implying that the latter is all talk but no action. In case of a potential matchup between them, not only is Musk willing to fight Maduro at a location of his choosing, but he also advised him to "bring his favorite donkey too." In continuation of his plans to send the Venezuelan president to jail, Musk also requested his X followers to "ask what size orange jumpsuit he [MADURO] wants in Gitmo."

Venezuela's elections, which have seen both Maduro and the opposition claim victory, have led to widespread riots in the country by the opposition. After weighing its options, the US State Department also shared its opinion, outlining that the results announcement was "deeply flawed" and did not "represent the will of the Venezuelan people."
