Dragon's Dogma 2 update

CAPCOM might be preparing to release a Dragon's Dogma 2 demo on PC. Reddit user CannedBeanofDeath spotted an interesting new Steam app related to the game that will be 'free on demand'.

The Japanese publisher still hasn't commented, but there is a direct precedent for the first game. The original Dragon's Dogma received a demo on April 24-25, roughly a month before the launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. If the same applies to the sequel, the Dragon's Dogma 2 demo should appear before the end of the month.

In the original game's demo, players had access to the full character creation system and could try out two of the classes (Vocations) in two different boss encounters from the game. Characters created in the demo could be then ported into the full title. It's possible that CAPCOM would make a similar choice for the sequel.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is slated to launch on March 22 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X, priced at $70 (with other CAPCOM games possibly following in this new range). Powered by the RE Engine, it'll feature an open world four times as large as the previous game.

Series creator Hideaki Itsuno claimed it is a fantasy world simulation game thanks to its emphasis on physics and AI, with greatly improved Pawns. Four basic Vocations (Archer, Fighter, Mage, and Thief) are available, while Advanced Vocations include the Mystic Spearhand, the Magick Archer, the Sorcerer, the Trickster, the Warrior, and the Wayfarer. Others may be featured in the full game despite CAPCOM keeping them secret.

Recently, Itsuno-san confirmed that Dragon's Dogma 2 would feature uncapped frame rate. While this is good news on PC, console users would like the option to cap the frame rate as the uncapped frame rate may make it stuttery. On PC, the game will also support NVIDIA DLSS 3 (Frame Generation).
