BioWare has confirmed that it will reveal the release date (and a roadmap) of Dragon Age: The Veilguard at some point in August. A likely option is Gamescom Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley and due to go live on Tuesday, August 20 at 8 PM CET on all major streaming platforms, for an expected two-hour duration. It would certainly be an interesting choice, given that the game itself is not currently planned to be shown at all at the German convention, press included.

In the blog post, BioWare also shared some highlights from its recent trip to San Diego for 2024's Comic-Con. There, the developers presented the Dragon Age: The Veilguard voice cast for the player character (there will be two choices for males and two for females, allowing players to pick between UK and US accents) and the seven companions.

Performance Director Ashley Barlow said:

I feel like you can fall in love with any of them. Everyone that has touched this project has put a piece of their heart into it and into all of the different characters you could cross paths with. I know for me at times, in the companion stories, it seemed like I was watching a scene out of my own life. It’s a powerful feeling to have something or someone to relate to on screen.

She also talked about fan-favorite character Lace Harding, the dwarf ranger returning from Dragon Age: Inquisition, played by Ali Hillis (Dr. Liara T'Soni in Mass Effect):

Ali brought a weight and a history to this project as an anchor of the series. There was a growth to Harding. She’s a veteran now. She’s a trusted voice at the table, and the writers did such a great job of integrating her with the new team and finding the relationships with each of the unique characters.
