The latest version of the popular upscaler swapper tool will now support NVIDIA's DLSS Ray Reconstruction presets and will also support launching games from various platforms.
DLSS Swapper v1.2.2.0 Brings Ray Reconstruction Presets and Expanded Game Support
The DLSS Swapper tool has become much more mature, and with its latest update, it will now offer support to NVIDIA's DLSS Ray Reconstruction presets. The DLSS Swapper version 1.2.2.0 improves how PC gamers can manage NVIDIA's DLSS technology across various titles, and can also launch games from different platforms, which wasn't possible before.
As per the release notes, the open-source tool DLSS Swapper will offer broader game launcher integration and improved detection of games. The most notable update is the support for Ray Reconstruction Presets, as gamers can now select specific presets when available for the games. This will allow gamers to tweak how these AI-driven RT enhancements will behave.
The Ray Reconstruction tech, now with DLSS 4, replaces the traditional denoising method (CNN) with the transformer-based AI model to improve ray-traced lightning. So, this is a major update for DLSS Swapper, which usually would do the job of swapping upscalers. Unlike what its name suggests, the tool can swap upscalers from AMD and Intel with the latest DLSS version. With the preset support, it's expanding its domain, and gamers will be offered a deeper level of customization whenever possible.
Keep in mind that the release notes also mention that some presets may get reset by NVIDIA App or specific games, and NVIDIA is aware of this behavior. That said, DLSS Swapper will also be able to launch games from more platforms like Epic, EA App, and Xbox App. The Steam support remains unaffected, and there are some improvements made to improve the detection and filtering of titles.
The future builds are now expected to further expand support for alternatives such as FSR 4 and AMD's Ray Regeneration feature. It's expected that version 1.2.3 will focus on these technologies, which is awesome news for RDNA 4 GPU owners as well.
