DICE On Battlefront: No More Partner Spawn In Combat, No New Content Coming In Beta

DICE representatives have been very responsive to the Star Wars: Battlefront community in the last few months and that's even more true now that the beta is live.

For instance, Lead Multiplayer Designer Dennis Brännvall concurred with a gamer that partners shouldn't be able to spawn during combat, which leads us to believe that this will be fixed before the game goes live.

On the other hand, someone posted on the official subreddit of Star Wars: Battlefront about their sudden encounter with a loading screen of the Endor map, which prompted rumors about this map being added to the rotation during the last beta days. This happened with other games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, but Community Manager Sledgehammer70 extinguished that hope with the following tweets.

However, he did clarify that there will be more modes than just those seen in the beta menu and locked away. Apparently, that's because DICE still didn't reveal that content.

Finally, many fans have objected to the fact that currently the player who racked the highest kill count gets the spotlight, despite both Drop Zone and Walker Assault being objective-driven modes. Level artist Daniel Cambrand agreed with this feedback and said he'll suggest to change this tomorrow.

Star Wars: Battlefront is due for release on November 17 in North America and November 20 in Europe for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We already know that 12 maps will be available at launch, with 2 more coming shortly after that with the Battle of Jakku DLC; if the game turns out to be the success that EA & Dice hope, a lot more content will surely come forth via free and paid DLC, just like it did with Battlefield 4.

In related news, it has just been announced that the beta will last one more day, concluding on October 13th; this will be done in order to conduct further tests to improve infrastructure, with the goal of a smooth launch experience.
