We're all the way up to Season 14 of Diablo IV now since its 2023 launch, and Blizzard Entertainment has now revealed when that new season will kick off, and what players can expect from it. Season 14, titled Season of Death Awakening will launch next week on June 30, 2026, arriving with a slew of updates, and with a free perk all players can take advantage of for the first week.
That would be a free one-week trial of the Warlock class, one of the two new classes that arrived with the game's latest expansion, Lord of Hatred. Blizzard had previously offered a free trial for the Paladin class, which makes the news that the Warlock would get the same treatment much less of a shock, but it's still nice to see.
You'll be able to jump into the Warlock trial right at the start of the season and play as the new class for free until July 7, 2026. You can also get a look at the updates coming in the latest gameplay trailer, below.
Those updates, as shown in the trailer, include of course the arrival of Mythic Uniques 3.0 for all players after the new feature had been tested earlier during this current season. The ability to turn any Unique item into a Mythic is not an insignificant one, and it adds a major layer to players' build crafting efforts.
Other significant additions with this new season are the new season journey with over a hundred objectives for players to work through, and the new Ruptures mini-activity, which you see in the trailer as portals that unleash new waves of enemies.
There are also plenty quality of life improvements and class balance updates as you might expect from any seasonal update, and there's even an Overwatch collaboration to bring two of Blizzard's biggest franchises together.
The new Lord of Hatred expansion launched earlier this year in April 2026, with Wccftech's Alessio Palumbo giving it a 9/10 in his review. Though he marked the lack of incentives to team up with other players as one of the cons to the expansion, he largely gave it a lot of praise for executing a strong narrative and gameplay improvements that made Diablo IV on the whole a better game.
"Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred is an excellent expansion that breathes new life into the hack-and-slash action RPG game. The expansion closes a lengthy narrative arc in truly epic fashion, the new Warlock class is extremely fun to play, and the new systems greatly improve build variety and endgame planning."
