A new Dead Island 2 NVIDIA DLSS 3 mod is now available for download, bringing significant performance improvements to the second entry in the series developed by Dambuster Studios.

The new mod, which can be downloaded from Nexus Mods, replaces AMD FSR with the the third version of NVIDIA's upscaler, although support is only limited to Super Resolution for now, so there's no Frame Generation support. Even so, NVIDIA DLSS 3 brings significant performance improvements with much better visual quality. Being a fork of a previously available NVIDIA DLSS 2 mod for the game, those who have already installed it can simply swap the DLSS files to upgrade to the new version.

Earlier this month, Dead Island 2 was expanded with the SoLA DLC. This new expansion is much better than the first one, providing an experience that feels coherent with the rest of the game, although it does little to shake up the base game's formula, which gets a little stale fairly quickly, as I highlighted in my review.

The Dead Island 2 SoLa DLC is a much better expansion than the previous one, featuring the same enticing blend of wacky characters and explosive zombie slaying action of the base game. The new additions, however, don't expand the core gameplay significantly, making the expansion a worthy purchase only for the most die-hard fans of Dambuster Studios' rendition of zombie-infested Los Angeles.

Dead Island 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One.
