Work on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is finally underway, and members of the development team seem to be extremely excited for it, judging from some recent comments.

Earlier this week, Narrative Director Igor Sarzyński celebrated on X/Twitter his first day in the Boston office, where they kickstarted their Orion journey. The first entry in the series was apparently just the warm up for the series, so it will be very interesting to see which direction its sequel will take.

Cyberpunk 2077 Quest Director Pawel Sasko also celebrated the return to the CDPR Boston office with a tweet without adding much more on the next entry in the series. He did say, however, that he may be helping here and there with the new The Witcher game as needed, although his main focus will continue to be the Cyberpunk IP.

Cyberpunk 2077 launched in late 2020 on PC and consoles and was one of the most disastrous video game launches of all time, as the game was plagued by all sorts of bugs on all formats. Over the past few years, however, CD Projekt Red worked hard on their open-world RPG, fixing all of the biggest issues and introducing some welcome gameplay improvements that vastly improved the experience. The game reached its peak with the excellent Phantom Liberty expansion, which sold over 5 million copies last year.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One worldwide. You can learn more about the Phantom Liberty expansion by checking out Alessio's review.
