Colorful continues using older components to offer affordable gaming machines, such as its recently launched EVOL X15 XS 2025 edition.
The EVOL X15 XS 2025 Goes Cheap by Deploying an Alder Lake CPU and RTX 3050 GPU to Target the Affordable Market Segment
While most laptop manufacturers have already transitioned to faster and the latest PC components, Colorful is still leveraging the power of previous generations, including Intel's Arrow Lake and NVIDIA's Ampere series. The company has introduced a brand-new gaming laptop, aimed at delivering satisfactory gaming performance on a budget.
The new model is called EVOL X15 XS 2025, which combines the Core i5 12500H processor with the GeForce RTX 3050. It isn't the only gaming laptop from Colorful that utilizes this configuration, but this one is slightly upgraded over the previous one. The EVOL X15 XS 2025 will be powered by this 12-core CPU that runs at up to 4.5 GHz of clock and brings the hybrid core configuration to distribute the load across the performance and efficient cores.
For gaming and other graphically intensive workloads, the RTX 3050 is deployed to offer satisfactory performance. While the GPU isn't very powerful, it is still sufficient to smoothly play games on medium settings at 1080p resolution. The EVOL X15 XS laptop brings a standard 15.6-inch display, featuring 1080p resolution and up to 144Hz refresh rate.
It comes with a 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM configuration by default but can be upgraded up to 64 GB capacity. For storage, users will get a basic 512GB NVMe SSD and will have another M.2 slot left for upgrading the storage capacity. For connectivity, there are plenty of ports, including USB 3.2, USB 2.0, a 3.5mm audio jack, a micro SD card reader, a LAN port, a mini DP 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and one microphone jack.
All of this is packed inside a dark gray chassis that features an LED-backlit keyboard, and measures 2.2cm in thickness, and weighs 2.1 KG. This is slightly higher than its previous edition, X15 XS 22, which weighs 1.9 Kg. There isn't much difference between the previous model and this one, but this one comes with a refreshed exterior and new packaging.
The Colorful X15 XS 2025 is launched at a price of $699 and will be shipped to the resellers very soon.
