Zhaoxin has confirmed its next-generation KX-8000 consumer CPUs, which will offer significantly improved performance & IO capabilities.
Zhaoxin KX-8000 CPUs To Aim High-Performance Consumer PC Segment With Performance Rivaling AMD's Zen 4 Chips
China-based chipmaker, Zhaoxin, launched its KX-7000 CPUs back in 2023, offering the x86 Century Avenue architecture on a 7nm process technology. These chips featured 8 cores, up to 3.7 GHz clock speeds, and integrated 32 MB of cache. The processor supported both DDR5 and DDR4 memory with PCIe Gen4 lanes up to 24.
Although the chips launched back in 2023, we got our first benchmarks a year later in 2024, where the chip doubled the performance of its predecessor but ended up being AMD's Zen 3 and Intel's 10th Gen offerings. More recently, the CPUs started to roll out in pre-builts designed for the domestic Chinese PC market.
Now, Zhaoxin is confirming that it is already prepping its next-gen high-performance consumer CPUs, the KX-8000 series. The following is from its press release:
In 2026, Zhaoxin will achieve another great success in its independent CPU product innovation, with the upcoming debut of the new generation KaiXian KX-8000 processor.
The KaiXian KX-8000 is positioned as a high-performance PC/embedded processor with significantly improved performance. Its main frequency will reach 4GHz, and it supports high-performance integrated graphics, as well as mainstream international I/O such as PCIe 5.0 and DDR5. It can bring users a fully upgraded product experience and further accelerate the innovation and digitalization process of industry applications.

As per Zhaoxin, the KX-8000 CPUs will target the high-performance PC and embedded processor market. Some of the main highlights include frequencies reaching the 4 GHz range along with a high-performance integrated GPU (iGPU). The new platform will be only DDR5 compliant and offer PCIe Gen5 support.
The official press release doesn't mention the core counts or what kind of performance to expect, but there are already reports from Zhaoxin's officials who have stated that the next-generation KX-8000 CPU lineup will target AMD's Zen 4 in terms of performance while offering leading efficiency. This will be a big jump versus the KX-7000 series, which lagged behind Zen 3. Obviously, the company still has no official release date, but if they are aiming a 2026 launch, we can expect retail products available sometime in 2027.
