[ORIGINAL STORY]

The PC system requirements for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have been revealed, and they’re surprisingly reasonable. The recommended requirements are an Intel Core i5 and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970/GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon R9 390/RX 580 and it’s possible to run the game with an Intel Core i3 and a GeForce GTX 670 or Radeon HD 7950. Pull out your old laptop and give the game a spin! But make sure you have plenty of space on your hard drive because Modern Warfare is pretty demanding in one specific area – the game is an eye-watering 175GB download. Dang.

Here are your full Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC system requirements:

Minimum Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit (SP1) or Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon HD 7950 - DirectX 12.0 compatible system
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Storage: 175 GB available hard drive space

Recommended Specifications

  • Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit latest update
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD Ryzen R5 1600X Processor
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon R9 390 / AMD Radeon RX 580 - DirectX 12.0 compatible system
  • Memory: 12 GB RAM
  • Storage: 175 GB available hard drive space

It’s hard to imagine why Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would have to be quite so huge – it’s 25GB bigger than massive open-world game Red Dead Redemption 2 – but I guess Infinity Ward is pouring some serious detail into the game’s stages and cutscenes. I suppose we need to start getting used to these kind of file sizes as the next generation of gaming approaches.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare storms onto PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on October 25. You can get more details about the game’s Spec Ops co-op mode here, and check out a launch trailer, right here.
