Pearl Abyss shared several Black Desert news this week. First of all, the massively multiplayer online roleplaying game can be purchased at a 90% discount until November 28 via Steam or until November 29 via the official website. This means you could get Black Desert for just a dollar (or euro).

In the game, the developer has started three Holiday events, including a Thanksgiving themed one, slated to run until December 6.

A new Black Desert update is scheduled to go live on Wednesday, November 29. The patch introduces a new zone called Darksiders Retreat to the southern part of Ulukita. The zone's story focuses on young Prince Bareeds III of Mediah, whom players first encountered a long time ago. They'll investigate the feud between him and the Premier, which will culminate in a boss fight.

In the zone (recommended to characters with 310 Attack Power/420 Defensive Power), players will scavenge the required materials to create the Ator's Shoes item. When crafting it, they'll get to pick between a damage reduction ability or an evasion ability.

The update also adds PvP features, such as a full-fledged practice mode for the Arena of Solare and a 3v3 mode for both practice and ranked matches. In the new invite-only custom mode Black Desert players can turn off matchmaking and invite whoever they wish, creating their own team fights while earning rewards like silver and pearls.

Pearl Abyss plans to unveil a lot more about the future of the MMORPG at the Calpheon Ball scheduled to take place in Gwangmyeong City, Korea, on Saturday and Sunday, December 16 and 17.
