In what is its biggest health-related initiative to date, OpenAI has just launched ChatGPT Health, a chatbot service that is designed to accurately answer health-related queries. What's more, the service comes equipped with Apple Health integration, unlocking phenomenal synergy in the process.
ChatGPT Health just went live, replete with Apple Health integration
OpenAI has just unveiled its ChatGPT Health service, which is designed to provide accurate health-related information to users. To gain personal insights, users can "securely connect medical records and wellness apps—like Apple Health, Function, and MyFitnessPal—so ChatGPT can help you understand recent test results, prepare for appointments with your doctor, get advice on how to approach your diet and workout routine, or understand the tradeoffs of different insurance options based on your healthcare patterns."
Do note that ChatGPT Health is not intended to replace formal medical diagnosis and treatment. Instead, the service aims to answer common health-related questions accurately, while helping you to collect, organize, and collate your health-related data in a single, convenient repository.
Also, ChatGPT Health will adopt a sandbox approach to your data, with the pertinent information locked within the dedicated chatbot space.
Meanwhile, as we noted recently, Apple is working to introduce a major revamp of its Health app with the iOS 27 update, seeking to offer personalized, AI-powered health coaching, with a curated list of helpful videos from health experts to explain various health conditions and offer guidance on lifestyle improvements. The service will also offer a nutrition tracking feature and more, so stay tuned for future updates.
