Last month, DICE confirmed that Battlefield 1, the latest entry in their popular series, would be getting A Community Test Environment in the future, which would be used to test upcoming releases and updates for the game. Today, the developer shared some additional details and finally opened sign-ups for players interested in accessing the CTE.
Initially, the Community Test Environment will be open for the PC version of the game only, but the team plans to expand it to other platforms. As already mentioned, it's now possible to sign-up for CTE access, and more information can be found by going here.
What is the Community Test Environment?
The CTE is a Battlefield 1 environment where involved players can help us test new features, improved/changed content, and experiments that aren’t yet (and may never be) ready for public release.
What is the purpose of the CTE?
The CTE lets us share our development process with our players, get your valuable feedback earlier, and keep improving the Battlefield 1 experience. The earlier we can get player feedback and full 64 player servers testing our latest features – the better off we’re going to be.
What Battlefield 1 content will be in the CTE?
Initially, the CTE will be used for testing and ensuring stability of the next Battlefield 1 update. More content will be added to the CTE later.
Battlefield 1 is now available in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We will let you know when the CTE opens for the PC version as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
