Not surprising to see such a high price tag for Hatsune Miku accents on a motherboard since it's "ASUS".
ASUS Lists ROG Strix X870E-H Gaming WiFi 7 Hatsune Miku Edition On Newegg for $200 Higher Price Tag Than Regular Edition; Shipping Starts on 19th This Month
ASUS can charge whatever it wants, and its slogan "For Those Who Dare" makes that clear. Special editions do cost more, but a $600 for a mid-range motherboard is just too much. MSI also launched an MLG B850 special edition motherboard, and although it boasts an inferior B850 chipset, it's packed with a powerful 17-phase VRM, brings high-bandwidth slots/ports, and modern connectivity. The motherboard costs just $259, but the Hatsune Miku edition from ASUS is now competing with flagship offerings in price.

ASUS showcased its special edition Hatsune Miku edition components a few weeks ago, and it includes almost every component, including GPU, AIO, PC chassis, PSU, and even peripherals. Prices haven't been disclosed yet except for the motherboard, which you can now check out on Newegg. The ROG Strix X870E-H Gaming WiFi 7 Hatsune Miku edition is listed on the retailer for a whopping $599 and is open for pre-orders.
For reference, the price for the ROG X870E-H Gaming WiFi 7 is $399, which is already quite high for a mid-range motherboard. Nonetheless, both boards are identical except for the aesthetics, as you get "special" Hatsune Miku artwork and accents on the heatsinks. That's all the new board does for a $200 price increase. You still get the 16+2+1 power phase VRM, same memory frequency support, and same connectivity. It's surely an excellent motherboard for high-end builds, but I don't know what justifies a $200 price increase.
The motherboard will be officially released on 19th September, which also indicates that other Hatsune Miku edition hardware could also launch around the same time frame. That said, considering how easy it is for ASUS to sell overpriced components, you can expect at least a $100-$200 price increase for almost every component, but I expect the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 Hatsune Miku Edition to cost almost twice the MSRP of RTX 5080.
The ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC edition officially costs $1799, so a price tag of $2000 is expected for the Hatsune Miku Edition. At this price, you can easily buy a GeForce RTX 5090, though the official pricing is yet to be revealed.
