Some motherboard manufacturers have already released a couple of new BIOS updates in recent weeks to offer support for "upcoming" AMD processors. ASRock recently released a new BIOS with AGESA v1.2.7.1 for the same, but it was in the beta state. The company just released the stable BIOS update containing the AGESA 1.2.7.1 to offer support for upcoming CPUs for the AMD 600 and 800 series motherboards.

Interestingly, this time ASRock also released a new BIOS update for some 800 series Intel motherboards, which we will talk about soon. As far as the AM5 motherboards are concerned, several X870 motherboards have received the BIOS version 4.03 with the AGESA 1.2.7.1, but only one B850 model received the latest BIOS update. Two models with the B650 chipset and one with the A620 chipset also received the latest stable BIOS to support upcoming processors.

These processors are likely the Ryzen 9000X3D processors, such as Ryzen 7 9850X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D, as well as Ryzen 9000G/10000G Zen 5 APUs, which we talked about many times. It's expected that both new CPU series will be announced at CES 2026, which is going to be held from 6 to 9th January. We expect the rest of the 800 series motherboards and many more 600 series ASRock motherboards to get a stable BIOS release in the coming days.

Coming to the Intel platform, ASRock released the BIOS version 2.12 with the latest Intel microcode and ME version. Only two models have received the new BIOS: B860M-X Gen5 and B860M-X Gen5 WiFi, which are now ready to support upcoming Intel processors, as mentioned in the release notes. From recent leaks, we know that Intel is going to release Arrow Lake Refresh CPUs, which will include three new SKUs: Core Ultra 9 290K Plus, Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus.

Except for these, we don't know of any newer AMD or Intel processors that are expected to be unveiled in the coming days.
