ASRock Announces BIOS 3.25 for Enhancing CPU and Motherboard Compatibility; Also Takes Responsibility for Damaged CPU and Motherboard

The ASRock 800-series motherboards have caused numerous CPU failures, particularly the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. If you are aware of the reports, ASRock motherboards have some kind of issue with Ryzen 9000 CPUs when it comes to PBO and stuff, which has supposedly caused physical CPU damage. Even though ASRock has previously conducted some investigations and has also released newer BIOS patches, the incidents didn't stop emerging.

Once again, ASRock has announced another BIOS update based on the AMD AGESA 1.2.03d. This is the BIOS version 3.25, which will be arriving soon on ASRock's official website, as announced by the Korean branch. The new BIOS is aimed towards enhancing the compatibility of Ryzen CPUs with 800-series motherboards, and also optimizes the PBO technology for stable system operation.

ASRock is continuously monitoring the performance and stability of the platform and will provide a firmware update as soon as possible if any issues are identified. In addition, if the system you are using is damaged due to this issue, we will take responsible measures for both the CPU and the motherboard distributed through the official domestic importer, and please submit the case through ASRock Korea's official distributor for diagnosis and processing.

ASRock Korea will continue to listen to the voices of our customers and do our best to remain a trusted brand.

Moreover, ASRock has also taken responsibility for the damaged CPUs and motherboards. While in most cases, only CPUs took damage but in case the motherboard also suffers as a consequence of a burnt CPU, ASRock will take "responsible measures" for both components.

The issue has become quite complex, and it has been months with no permanent fix. While taking responsibility for damaged hardware is good, it is annoying and time-consuming for users to apply for an RMA. Hopefully, the new BIOS patch can mitigate the issue successfully, but we will have to wait and see how things go in the following days.
