Cambridge-based developer PlayFusion (previously known for the Trading Card Game Lightseekers) is launching the PC beta for Ascendant, a squad-based tactical first-person shooter game, and we've got 2K keys to give away thanks to a special URL provided by the developer.

Just head to this page, hit sign up to closed beta, register a new account (or log in to an existing one), and you should be good to go.

The beta will be live from 6 PM to 10 PM BST today and tomorrow in the EU Servers and from 5 PM to 11 PM Pacific Time in the US Servers. You can find the current system requirements for Ascendant below.

OS: Windows 10 64-bit (Version 1909 revision .1350 or higher) / Windows 11

Processor: Intel i7 11700K or Ryzen 7 5800X

Memory: 16 GB RAM

Storage: 64GB required disk space on an SSD

Graphics: GTX 2070 Super or RX 5700XT

VRAM: 8GB

The current version does not support controllers yet, but it will, and there are plans to launch the game on consoles eventually.

In Ascendant, players will be split into 3v3v3v3 teams. Their main goal will be to extract with the precious BioCores, but there are only three, whereas the groups are four. Furthermore, the developers promise an ever-shifting world with different landscapes, extraction points, and events, constantly keeping players on their toes.

The game also places a major emphasis on customization, thanks to thousands of possible options. Moreover, it features a persistent social lobby that PlayFusion says will provide plenty of fun even before the bullets start flying. Here, players will find plenty of different experiences to choose from, complete with leaderboards and speed challenges. You can also hang out and make new friends before heading into battle - this is your space to do as you please.
